Al - Jouf
One of the regions of the Northern Kingdom, famous for agriculture mainly because of the abundance of underground water, non-salty soil , level and arable land. The Kingdom attaches great importance to agricultural development, aware of the importance of agriculture and self-sufficiency of cereals, crops, vegetables and fruit.
Al-Jawf has a suitable climate for many crops, vegetables and fruits, including wheat, alfalfa, olives and various kinds of fruits, as well as potatoes, onions, peanuts and sorghum
Al-Jouf Agricultural Project
- The company was owned by Al Jouf Company in early 2012
- The area of the project is 27 million square meters. The project is located in the Basita region, which is known for wheat, alflfa, onion, and olives.
Project Location
- The project contains 30 Artesian Wells, 29 of them operating by pivot system.
- The area of each pivot is 7-8 Towers.
- The length of each Tower is 54 meters.
- One pivot covers 60 hectares of agricultural area.
50 meter asphalt road
The project contains a network of main paved roads reaching into the administrative buildings, family housing, engineers’ housing, workers’ housing, maintenance workshops, store rooms, barns, and pivots, facilitating the movement inside the project.
Current annual production
- 6,800 tons of wheat were produced through planting 1240 hectares.
- 212 hectares of potatoes were planted
- 87 hectares of watermelon were planted
- 5183 tons of hay were produced.
- An area of 76 hectares of maize was planted.
- An area of 10 hectares of grapes was planted for 15,000 trees.
- An area of 6 hectares of pomegranate was planted for 5,000 trees.
- An area of 2 hectares of fig, peaches and apricot (2,500 trees)
Animal Production
Currently, the project has (700) head of sheep and has the capacity for 10,000 sheep breeding.
